Bio
Todd Junkin is currently a consultant for production and technical design for advanced hybrid streaming and media production workflows with 30+ years experience working with high profile clients including Apple, HP, Google, Yahoo and Bill Graham Presents live shows.
During his time at Apple, Todd worked in the Advanced Technology Group, a team that was involved in developing many of frameworks such as the modern GUI and the now infamous QuickTime standards used today. He managed the advanced TV lab and worked with the cray rendered files for Siggraph submissions and reels for AFI (American Film Institute) and All Apple Developers conferences. In addition, he spent time at Apple as a T3 engineer for XSAN, supporting NFL and NBA CNN and other high value clients.
Thresher hired Todd as a Google live show EIC, TD and main systems design consultant for the upgrade and weekly operation of Charile's, the Google TGIF live weekly shows. In addition to directing the live shows, Todd designed and worked in tandem with ASG to refresh the current space for improved performance and to include IMAG by introducing a low latency switcher by snell and great system integration by ASGLLC. Todd oversaw the entire project including presenting the proposal for approval, supervision over the build and talent recruitment. The project was a huge success and continues to evolve with new programming formats. Currently working on hybrid production systems due to covid shutdowns and advancing production workflows for remote operations.
Todd is comfortable working with high profile clients as well crew members, he has clear and concise communication and is an excellent team leader.
Outside of work, Todd is an avid fan of Racing, Including IndyCar, Formula 1, Rally, and Kart racing with the underlying tech needed for a Race Control or media distribution. His interests also include filming documentaries related to family history, cycling in the wild and playing his guitar. He lives in Nevada with his two rescue dogs, Sabine and Prince.
